Description:

this project takes advantage of making small decisions which have big impacts. the kitchen design seemingly a pull and replace actually makes some subtle changes which shows this concept best. For example: pushing the island out from the sink cabinet run to provide more of an aisle, extending the island by about a foot to add more working space, and shifting the fridge to be across from the island for ease of placing food from fridge to island. we also reworked some closets which were deep and narrow (good only if your goal is to lose things in your closets) into a functional mudroom and additional coffee bar in the dining area of the kitchen. the other big impact decision was to move the laundry upstairs into a large 4 sliding door closet. instead of hauling the dirty laundry downstairs, then upstairs again; this allowed the laundry to be on the same level as the bedrooms. this closet has a laundry counter, sink, and shelving. this home is now primed and ready to host parties and gatherings.
